Johnny FennJohnny studied photography at school before working as photographer for a newspaper.
He was commissioned into the Army from the Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst and he has served in Brunei, East Timor, Canada, Germany, Bosnia, Iraq and Nigeria.He was chief instructor (to, amongst others, Prince William) at Sandhurst and was the deputy Chief of Staff of the Brigade of Gurkhas. He was the British Military Advisor to West Africa based in Nigeria until 2011.
Johnny was the Field Director of the Gurkha Welfare Scheme based in Pokhara, Nepal from March 2011 to December 2012
Since leaving the Army he has worked full-time on various photographic commissions abroad (including Basrah, Baghdad, Libya and Afghanistan). He has photographed in the Arctic, and the jungles of Peru for the British Exploring Society. He has had commissions to photograph HRH the Queen, Joanna Lumley, Field Marshall Chapple, General the Lord Richards, the Lord Mayor of London, HRH Princess Anne, and HRH Prince Philip, and has corporate commissions to photograph for Coca Cola, EFG Bank Switzerland, Schroders Bank Luxembourg, Lidl, SkiVerbier, GardaWorld to name a few. In 2016 Johnny published "Light & Life in the Middle Hills": a collection of some of his images from Nepal. Examples of his work can be found at www.johnnyfenn.co.uk
