Saraya Cortaville joins the photoJourney Team!
Hi all, Johnny here.
It’s been a while since I have been able to post – I completed a massive photographic commission for the recruitment arm of Lidl supermarkets, launched my latest book, then headed for a month to Peru with British Exploring, and have just finished filming for the National Lobster Hatchery in Padstow. But I can now finally reveal that the photoJourney team has been joined by Saraya Cortaville – one of the best portrait photographers in the country:
“In April 2007 Saraya was the first ever female photographer to gain the title of Fellow of the British Institute of Professional Photographers in studio portraiture in it’s 105 year history. In September 2015, Saraya was awarded her SECOND Fellowship in Social Documentary, for her work in Tanzania – One of only 2 women in the UK to receive this award; a Fellowship is the most prestigious qualification that a professional photographer is able to achieve in portrait photography and one that very few photographers are able to realise.
In 2015, Saraya was voted The London Portrait Photographer of the Year.
Saraya has also won many awards in the National Awards for the British Institute. Saraya is now a judge at this level for both qualifications and National awards, and is a BIPP approved assessor and mentor to other aspiring photographers. This means joining the photoJourney team will add another brilliant dimension to the possibilities for learning those photographic skills.”
